Maestro Spano, ālayavijñāna. Maestro Spano.
There are no words that can sum up everything you have taught us. But we think this is the highest honor we can pay to you, as your impact is beyond measure. It has been incredible to think about building our knowledge of how to keep such delicate things strong and durable, and challenge the longevity of fragile things.
Since 2010, glo platform and Maestro Robert Spano have collaborated in our community to develop immersive, transdisciplinary projects with Atlanta youth, people, and through the ASO’s archives, at both the Goat Farm Arts Center and Symphony Hall. In work after work—-Mother/JUMP (2019), Orpheo (2017), cloth}field (2016), cloth (2014), and Maa’(2010)—-Maestro conducted barefoot. As a disciple of the “Barefoots” of Robeson County, NC, the mindfulness in each of these separate journeys stopped the noise inside, strengthening our bodies, our souls, for this movement right now.
