Saturday, August 15, 8:15 – 9:30 PM | Join us for Making Kin Live at Atlanta Beltline Market @Allene, presented by Atlanta Beltline Art in collaboration with glo and the Atlanta Improvisers Orchestra Choir, as vocalist Monique Osorio, choreographer lauri stallings, and musician Kebbi Williams gather alongside an ensemble of vocalists and moving artists for a people processional live art work that explores the poetics of intimacy, social touch, and the weight of shared physical spaces.

While the live art activates American artist Lonnie Holley’s album, “Keeping a Record of it” (2016) as a site to extend from the past to create a portal to new perspectives, community, and what’s left behind, the project carries these embodied choreography systems and sound scores through a pedestrian flow across .8 miles of the Beltline Westside Trail. Rooted in Atlanta, the city where the project was conceived in spring 2025, these people processions create an opportunity for the community to participate physically, spiritually, and viscerally, coming and going as you like. Named Donna Haraway’s 2016 book Making Kin in the Chthulucene, earth (chthulu) and new kind (cene) is the act of not being able to think of ourselves as disconnected from the rest of life on earth. It’s also referred to as “staying with the trouble,” as spoken by the late Georgia warrior John Lewis.

Beltline will have two waterstations along the 65 – minute procession, beginning and ending at Atlanta Beltline Market @Allene. There are no tickets required as the public art work is free and public to all. Should you need assistance in attending, please reach out to glo directly.
