SUMMARY:Tanz Farm: BLACK VELVET performance art installation
DESCRIPTION:Tanz Farm: BLACK VELVET: Architectures and Archetypes \nPerformance Art installations\nTuesday March 27 at 8pm\nWednesday March 28 at 8pm\nThursday March 29 at 8pm \n$20\nbackstage of Atlanta Symphony Hall\n1280 Peachtree Street\, Atlanta\, 30309 \nTanz Farm showcases BLACK VELVET\, an international art piece that aims to share and reflect on the colorfulness of blackness-especially in regards to black women- in a relationship of love\, compassion and camaraderie. In the work\, creators and performers Shamel Pitts and Mirelle Martins research and share the sensibility of ideals\, models\, and textures as a projection of self. \nglo will organize public interaction around BLACK VELVET-open studio\, free movement shops and community conversations\, and four performance installations- as centered spaces for process\, healing and fantastical activation. The stakes are high\, every move complex. \nTanz Farm is made possible in part by a Matching Grant from Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs\, and special individuals like you. \nTanz Farm launched in 2012\, in collaboration with the Goat Farm Arts Center. The mission of the contemporary anthology is anchored in the agency of risk-taking\, and to expand boundaries and support of new language in live art. \nWrite us with questions: info@gloatl.org
