SUMMARY:Tanz Farm: Ghosts of the Rubble: Image
DESCRIPTION:  \nTanz Farm VI: Ghosts of the Rubble: Image\nSaturday\, January 25\n7 p.m. – 9 p.m.\nHistoric Rhodes Theatre\, 62 South Rhodes Center NW\, Atlanta\, GA 30309 \n  \n\n\nGhosts of the Rubble arose from an archive of 8mm and 16mm films that captured historic moments in Atlanta on a medium that was in itself in transition toward archival status:  Film. The project now pivots to devour itself\, if only for a moment\, before it sinks back into the influence of gravity. In this first iteration\, Rubble’s collaborating artists will experiment with multiple projectors connected to a Resolume Media Server\, scrims\, shadows\, laser camera video\, video mapping and live editing and archiving of these imagistic layers. In this performative workshop setting\, the team will continue to challenge the notion of the fourth wall and the viewer’s perception of the space. Pay what you can. \nUpcoming at glo \nTanz Farm VI: Ghosts of the Rubble: Music\n2/15 \nTanz Farm VI: Ghosts of the Rubble: Text\n3/10 \nTanz Farm: Ghosts of the Rubble\n416-4/18\nTickets go on sale Soon! \n  \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Angel\, angel\, angel of history\, hiding in plain sight.
DESCRIPTION:glo is pleased to host an installation and live action for one-day only by our founder\, Lauri Stallings\,  at Hulsey Yards\, a unique space located on the sub-continental divide\, composed recently of hundreds of railroad cars. Stallings is the first artist to work on a site-based project at this unique space\, created in 1832 by Georgia Railroad and Banking Company. Angel\, angel\, angel of history\, hiding in plain sight\, will activate the northern most end of the Yard with glo moving artists Phaemonae Brooks\, Kristina Brown\, Christina Hiroko Kelly\, Noelle Dave’\, MaryJane Pennington\, and Mechelle Tunstall. Rehabilitation\, open\, and more-than-human can be found as narrative strands. We invite you to come and experience as long as you’d like this stimulating work in this one-of-a-kind setting.  The moving artists are like birds in a forest who communicate with one another whether you’re present or not. With the mere presence of women bodies\, unaccompanied by music and without a set\, Stallings allows new spaces to emerge for alternative modes of thinking. You have been here before. Did you find what you were looking for? \nValentines Day 2020 \nFree and public for all \nQuestions? Write us at info@gloatl.org

SUMMARY:Tanz Farm: Ghosts of the Rubble: Music
DESCRIPTION:Tanz Farm VI: Ghosts of the Rubble: Music\n2/15\, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.\nFree and public \nFor our sixth consecutive season\, Tanz Farm is delighted to highlight the work of Atlanta’s own culturally significant artists: Dr. Jerry Cullum\, Neil Fried\, and Priscilla Smith. With Ghosts of the Rubble\, these three artists will lead a performance in the Historic Rhodes Theatre that reflects on Atlanta’s history\, rapid change\, and ambitions. This new work will be revealed in four public iterations over three months\, with more than a dozen collaborating artists exploiting large-scale film projections\, dance\, original music\, puppetry and text to conjure a site-specific theatrical environment that challenges the audience’s notion of narrative storytelling. Join us for the completed project this April 16-18. \nIteration 2. \nGhosts of the Rubble: Image plays with and continues testing of the elements of sound with a live chorus of voices and original music. With compositions from Bill Taft and W8tin 4 UFOs\, Madeleine St. Romain\, and Priscilla Smith\, the electronic music of George Trotter\, and musique concrete from Neil Fried\, expect a cornucopia of auditory delights. The chorus includes Kameron Crutcher\, Helen Ingebritsen\, Monique Osorio\, and Madeleine St. Roman. \nThis season of Tanz Farm is made possible by support from the Dewberry Foundation.

SUMMARY:Tanz Farm: Ghosts of the Rubble: OPENING
DESCRIPTION:Tanz Farm VI: Ghosts of the Rubble\nApril 16-18\n8pm\nHistoric Rhodes Theatre\, 62 South Rhodes Center NW\, Atlanta\, GA 30309 \nglo and the Goat Farm Arts Center are thrilled to highlight the work of Atlanta’s own culturally significant artists Dr. Jerry Cullum\, Neil Fried\, and Priscilla Smith. With Ghosts of the Rubble\, Cullum\, Fried\, and Smith lead a performance in Historic Rhodes Theatre that reflects on Atlanta’s history\, rapid change\, and ambitions. This new work will be revealed in four public iterations over three months\, with more than a dozen collaborating artists exploiting large-scale film projections\, dance\, original music\, puppetry and text to conjure a site-specific theatrical environment that challenges the audience’s notion of narrative storytelling. Ghosts of the Rubble is an experience that resonates with the Rhodes Theatre’s former life as a cinema even as it revisits and expands on the artists’ 2010 performance installation entitled Skies Over Atlanta. \n  \n\n\nTickets go on sale Soon! \nQuestions?
