SUMMARY:What the flowers of the field tell me\, What love tells me: large-scale installation
DESCRIPTION:We float.  In honor of 22 years of  M U S I C and vibes\,  glo platform is honored to share “What the flowers of the field tell me\, What love tells me\,” a large-scale installation of 900 floating/scaffolding flowers\, and spectrums of color accompanying Mahler’s Symphony no. 3 voyage on the proscenium space stage of Atlanta Symphony Hall in ceremony of Maestro Robert Spano. \n3-5pm\nSunday\,  June 13\nAtlanta Symphony Hall \nMaestro Spano\, ālayavijñāna. Maestro Spano. \nThere are no words that can sum up everything you have taught us. But we think this is the highest honor we can pay to you\, as your impact is beyond measure. It has been incredible to think about building our knowledge of how to keep such delicate things strong and durable\, and challenge the longevity of fragile things. \nSince 2010\, glo platform and Maestro Robert Spano have collaborated in our community to develop immersive\, transdisciplinary projects with Atlanta youth\, people\, and through the ASO’s archives\, at both the Goat Farm Arts Center and Symphony Hall. In work after work—-Mother/JUMP (2019)\, Orpheo (2017)\, cloth}field (2016)\, cloth (2014)\, and Maa’(2010)—-Maestro conducted barefoot. As a disciple of the “Barefoots” of Robeson County\, NC\, the mindfulness in each of these separate journeys stopped the noise inside\, strengthening our bodies\, our souls\, for this movement right now. \nlauri stallings + Glo Platform:\, 2022. SUMMARY:Old Growth: a new body of work in four cycles in collaboration with photographer Dustin Chambers
DESCRIPTION:Old Growth  features a new body of work in four cycles by Georgia artists photographer Dustin Chambers\, social practice choreographer lauri stallings\, and the glo platform. These public actions\, sculptures\, and constructions provoke attention to emergent properties\, symbiosis and synergy and concern the role that collective presence can wield in addressing power structures to think of ourselves as entwined\, entangled\, braided\, inextricably linked. Thinking of intersectionality alongside biocultural diversity—-like having a whole embodied vocabulary to write with from all experiences of the world – our full wisdom. \n“the beauty of things was born before eyes\, an heartbreaking beauty will last after there are hearts to break.” \n– robinson jeffers\, poet. \nOld Growth stars Phaemonae Brooks\, Vinisha Browne\, Anna Heranval\, Mary Jane Pennington\, Lauren Stott\, and Mechelle Tunstall\, and hinges on embodiments of collective relations as seen in biology and botany\, as they are in constant stages of change\, much like ancient forests which play essential roles in wild life habitat\, species diversity\, nutrient cycles\, carbon storage\, spiritual value\, ecological\, and numerous other processes.\n\n@gloatl_platform

SUMMARY:Community Sowing #5: 17th Street Prairie
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the fifth Community Sowing at our 17th Street Prairie on September 25\, 2022. \nglo is pleased to reactivate “lost loose and loved” our 2020 land art work. The 2.5 acre micro-prairie utilizes native Southern wildflowers to revitalize a yet-to-be developed\, sloping Midtown property. The site-specific micro-prairie is an open invitation to join with community and feed our consciousness through the art of choreographing and enacting social duties related to place\, the body\, and environment. \n\nglo work is always free and public. \n\nlost loose and loved is made possible by Jaimie Dewberry with major support of the Dewberry Foundation.
