SUMMARY:Unity in 3 Parts: Soul Food Cypher
DESCRIPTION:Unity in 3 Parts: a Rosenwald School Homecoming mobilizes a team of artists\, educators and local people with innovative presentation and education along 1.9 miles of Fairmont\, for neighborhood transformation through the life of the rehabilitation of Historic Fairmont Rosenwald School. Among entrepreneurial bent\, community driven public art and dynamic learning initiatives for a variety of children and social groups\, Unity in 3 Parts signalizes the power of place to initiate dialogue between rich architectural and cultural traditions embedded in Fairmont Rosenwald School. In previous project phases\, glo activated immersive art experiences\, shops\, and conversation in local schools\, gardens\, and Main St. sidewalks. \nPoetry parlors forge the power of speech to meter and rhyme transforming people at all life stages and where new and future artists speak freely and share stories from their communities. Join glo & Soul Food Cypher for this free and public gathering within the community. \nSoul Food Cypher utilizes the power of speech to transform the lives of individuals and their communities. They are an organization that showcases the positive aspects of rap through our cypher events\, membership program\, and community outreach. Their aim is to provide Atlanta’s lyricist (rappers) community with a safe and nurturing environment where their voice and artistry can grow. In addition\, they look to solidify the art of freestyling as a genuine aesthetic to the wider artistic community and carry this rich tradition to the next generation. \nHistoric (red brick) 8th Street Baptist Church\ncorner of S. 8th Street & W.
