Project Description

flooding soma perceptions as higher nature frequencies for love

living installation

A new world living installation on themes of entanglement, created with rescued and repurposed nature pieces for more-than-human Southern women, and community. Bare trees adorned with care spheres and feathered ornament share time and space with female bodies adorned in velvets, velours and ancestral fabrics hand stitched by mommas. The combination of elements encourages folk to sit amongst, contemplate, question, and otherwise take active roles in a transformative process.

flooding soma perceptions as higher nature frequencies for love (2021) is a Hambidge Center for Arts & Sciences commission in ceremony of American artist Lonnie Holley.
