Project Description

Orfeo

Opera

Join us for the debut of a new Orfeo, a beautiful visualization between the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, artist Daniel Arsham, and glo with Maestro Robert Spano conducting Christoph Willibald Gluck’s 1762 opera featuring 157 artists. Nightly, Orfeo will begin as a migration from the High Museum across campus into Symphony Hall. This project highlights the synchronicity and nomadic traces of glo. The Orpheo collaboration at Symphony Hall is in tandem with Lauri Stallings’ choreographic mappings for artist Daniel Arsham’s Hourglass exhibition at the High Museum of Art this spring. Orfeo is directed by James Alexander.

Civic actions include people Movement SHOPS at the ASO, and Culture Assembly at glo’s Goat Farm studio.

Orfeo is a commission of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
