Rite Works
interdisciplinary art work
Experience and embody warm, and rituals through the immersive and visceral art works of glo. Rite Works is Maestro Robert Spano and social practice choreographer lauri stallings’ ninth collaborative piece exploring our relationships to one another. The live art work is in what it is to be pulled into a ritual, to Igor Stravinsky’s revolutionary “Rite of Spring” score for orchestra, and artistic associate Mary Jane Pennington, moving artists Beatriz Castro, Zandia Covington, Noelle Dave’, Jacq Hathaway, Laila Rosen, and Nile Ruff. We are deeply grateful to the presence and participation of all of the artists who have joined us over the year to devote energy and curiosity to the generative process of this project. We are deeply grateful to the writers, and community members who have been with us for this process. We are deeply grateful to Maestro Robert Spano, Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra, and Bass Center whose support has enabled us to convene in Atlanta and Ft. Worth.
